Residents of El Muglad, El Fula, and Babanusa localities in West Kordofan complain of a severe deterioration in the provision of basic services such as water and electricity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

State employee El Kheir Ali told Radio Dabanga from the town of Babanusa that the provision of water and electricity is significantly below the required level.<\/p>\n

“The network for drinking water only operates three times a month despite the fact that we have paid the full monthly bill of SDG 120 ($2.66*)”, he said. “The electricity network in the town provides electricity for about three hours a day, so it is difficult to follow important news.”<\/p>\n

Rough roads<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ali also complained about rough roads and lack of asphalt in most of the localities of West Kordofan.<\/p>\n

He attributed the weakness of services to poor planning, technical faults, and insufficient supervision by the state authorities.<\/p>\n
