drinking water as a result of the monopoly on services by two contractors in the mining markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abuhereira Osman, a member of the regional minerals committee, told Radio Dabanga that the two contractors in the area of El Firga, allegedly with the connivance of the official authorities, monopolise the mining markets in the area where thousands of miners work and do not allow any other party to provide services.<\/p>\n<p>Osman explained that all furnaces and water tankers are monopolised by two people in the region.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that they carried out vigils a week ago and submitted a memorandum to the police and the Sudanese Mining Company, which included lifting the monopoly on the markets and reducing the levies fees, but their demands have not yet been met.<\/p>\n<p>They called on authorities in the Red Sea state to intervene to consider their demands.<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Our editorial independence means that we can continue to provide
