♦ Rebels: Nominations for ministers are ‘quotas in its ugliest form’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

September 1 – 2019 JUBA The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF), a coalition of armed movements, rejects the list of nominations of ministers for the interim government. It called on Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdouk to conduct broader consultations, including the Sudan Revolutionary Front, before forming a government.<\/div>\n

According to the SRF, its leadership has not been contacted about the nominations at all.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by Minni Minawi, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement, and Malik Agar, leader of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North faction Agar, the SRF said: “The revolution has been taken over by individuals and political forces that use the revolution to get power themselves,” the SRF says.<\/p>\n

It accused those forces of not being interested in resolving issues like war and full citizenship for all, in respecting diversity, and in achieving the goals of the revolution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

♦ Announcement of new Sudan govt postponed<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

August 30 – 2019 KHARTOUM The announcement of the new Sudanese government has been postponed, after it was scheduled to be made known on Wednesday. Consultations about candidates for ministerial posts still continue.<\/div>\n

A source close to Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdouk told Agence France-Presse that announcing the new government was delayed “because of continuing consultations about the candidates”. It is not clear when the new cabinet will be announced.<\/p>\n

There is widespread debate among activists on internet platforms and social media about the shortcomings and drawbacks on the list of candidates for ministerial positions, that was submitted by the Forces for Freedom and Change to Prime Minister Hamdouk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
