On Wednesday, a miner was killed and dozens of others were injured in a clash between members of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and gold miners in El Radoom locality in South Darfur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, one of the victims reported that the fighting was triggered by the theft of money from an army soldier.<\/p>\n

“A member of the army working at the Aghabsh mine was attacked and his money was stolen,” he said. “He then returned with his colleagues and attacked people working at the mines of Aghbash, Jumbana, and Kesrein.”<\/p>\n

The source said the army soldiers shot at the miners and beat them with rifle butts. “Saeed Adam was killed instantly. Dozens of others were wounded.”<\/p>\n

The miners fled in the direction of Daffag and Sengo.<\/p>\n
