Eight people have been killed and at least 60 wounded in <\/strong>renewed inter-tribal clashes<\/strong><\/a> in Port Sudan. The state authority has issued a curfew from 5 pm to 5 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Thursday, the conflict between Beni Amer tribesmen and displaced Nuba from South Kordofan renewed. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the incident resulted in the burning of a number of houses. They also reported that of the wounded people eight were shot, and 43 were injured by edged weapons.<\/p>\n

They further explained that the violence began with a quarrel between a shopkeeper and another person, and then developed from the Dar El Naeem district to the neighbouring Filib district.<\/p>\n

The two parties used white weapons and stones. However, unidentified persons who came on motorcycles and carried weapons, opened fire at the residents and wounded several of them. The witnesses added that the clashes extended to El Matar district on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

In August, Radio Dabanga reported that clashes erupted in Port Sudan<\/a> between Beni Amer tribesman and displaced Nuba. Dozens of people were injured and a number of houses went up in flames.<\/p>\n
