Resistance committees in the localities of Sirba and El Geneina in West Darfur, situated along the border with Chad, carried out a protest in front of the state government secretariat in El Geneina, the state capital. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The protestors condemn the recent killings<\/a>, rapes<\/a> and thefts<\/a>, and demanded that the perpetrators be arrested and brought to justice.<\/p>\n

Hasan Haroun, a member of the Sirba resistance committee, told Radio Dabanga that they handed over a memorandum to the governor in which they demanded the arrest of the perpetrators of the murders and rapes that occurred recently in Sirba locality.<\/p>\n

They also want the police in the localities to have a higher status and more senior officers.<\/p>\n
