The Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North led by Abdelaziz El Hilu said that the SPLM-N faction under the leadership of Malik Agar does not control any territory in South Kordofan or Blue Nile state.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the SPLM-N El Hilu negotiation delegation at the peace talks in Juba, Kuku Jagdoul, said in a statement yesterday that the SPLM-N Agar is present only in South Sudan and in areas controlled by the Sudanese government.<\/p>\n

The humanitarian file agreement signed with the SPLM-N Agar is currently being implemented in El Goz (El Nila, El Nabaga, Karkoura, Manago, and Sinjakiya) and in El Midir in Maban in South Sudan. \u201cThere was no war there and the mediation knows that\u201d, Jagdoul added.<\/p>\n

Jagdoul noted that the Sudanese army is present in Kadugli and Abu Jubeiha in South Kordofan. Rapid Support Forces militiamen are deployed in the area of El Goz Dalma and Hafeer Telab in Funj in Blue Nile state. This undermines the credibility of the Juba peace process, he said, and questioned the Sudanese government’s intentions and desire to achieve peace in Sudan.<\/p>\n

The SPLM-N El Hilu negotiating delegation so far has not left the Juba peace talks and therefore does not need to return to the negotiating table, Jagdoul said.<\/p>\n

El Hilu was deputy chairman of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North, led by Malik Agar, when he resigned in March 2017<\/a>, and continued with most of the SPLM-N combatants. The two factions fought heavy battles<\/a> after that.<\/p>\n
