The Sudanese Football Federation has offered residence facilities to the Ministry of Health in support against the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Women volunteering at the Mygoma orphanage in Khartoum have decided to not return home during the three-week lockdown of the capital that started on Saturday. Kassala in eastern Sudan launched a food distribution project for vulnerable families. <\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the Sudanese Football Federation (SFF) announced that it decided to place its Football Technology Academy Hotel in Khartoum at the disposal of the Ministry of Health to use as a residence for doctors and other medics working against the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Doctor Hasan Abujebel, SFF Secretary-General said that the Federations’ General Secretariat and the Ministry of Health are coordinating the preparations for hosting health personnel during the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n

The 180 women who are volunteering at the Orphans Care Home in the Mygoma neighbourhood in Khartoum, have decided not to return home for the lockdown period of three weeks.<\/p>\n

They will stay away from their families and their own children to take care of the orphans, who are often being found in front of mosques, churches, or hidden in carton boxes in various neighbourhoods in the capital.<\/p>\n

One of the women stated that they decided to do so by mutual consent. “We all feel responsibility towards the children,” she said. “It is a humanitarian action in the first place.”<\/p>\n

In Kassala, the authorities launched a food basket project for 3,000 vulnerable families in the various localities of the state, after they received a generous gift from a philanthropist.<\/p>\n
