On Thursday, unidentified gunmen raped a 12-year-old girl in Shangil Tobaya in North Darfur. In Nierteti in Central Darfur, militiamen abducted a 16-year-old.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement on Friday, community leader and member of Darfur’s General Coordination of Refugees and Displaced People Adam Rujal reported that the girl was raped outside a camp for displaced people.<\/p>\n

Unidentified gunmen attacked three young women as they collected firewood in Um Dereisaya area west of the camp for displaced people they are living in. The attackers managed to capture one of the girls and allegedly repeatedly raped her.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to the hospital of Shangil Tobaya. “We reported the incident to the police,” he said.<\/p>\n

In Nierteti in Central Darfur, militiamen took 16-year-old Tamadur Saleh from Nierteti camp while she was looking after her goats outside the town.<\/p>\n

A community leader Adam Okar told Radio Dabanga that three gunmen on horses attacked the victim about 2 km north of Nierteti. “They stole the goats and took the girl,” Okar explained.<\/p>\n

He also confirmed that the incident was reported to the police. A local rescue team went after the militiamen.<\/p>\n
