The Sudanese secondary school examinations started in the country yesterday. The exams were scheduled to take place in April, but had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Governor of Khartoum, Ayman Nimir, symbolically rang the bell at a secondary school for girls in Mayo district in the south of Khartoum, to signal the start of the examinations.<\/p>\n

He praised teachers, students, and their families for the efforts they had to make and the patience they had to have because of the pandemic and the recent torrential rains and floods.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Ibrahim, Director General of Education in Khartoum, assured the parents that the exams will take place in a safe environment. Sanitisation and transportation to the 880 exam centres have been provided.<\/p>\n

The director of the school in Mayo, Ghada Hasan, said that 421 girl students were present at the examinations centre yesterday to take the exams for Islamic and Christian education.<\/p>\n

154,960 Khartoum secondary school students will take the exam this year.<\/p>\n
