Young activist Bahaeldin Nouri was abducted by unidentified armed men in Khartoum on Monday. His relatives found him dead in Omdurman Teaching Hospital the following day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The body of Nouri showed visible signs of torture.<\/p>\n

The El Kalaka Resistance Committees reported in a statement yesterday that the young activist, who lived in the densely populated El Kalakla Sangaat neighbourhood in southern Khartoum, was abducted from the district market in the district <\/strong>by armed men wearing civilian clothes and driving a pickup truck without number plates.<\/p>\n

The statement said that the victim's family received a call from an unidentified person on Tuesday, informing them that Nouri was in poor health in Omdurman Teaching Hospital. When they arrived at the hospital, he was already dead.<\/p>\n

His family has requested an autopsy.<\/p>\n

Omar El Degeir, head of the Sudanese Congress Party and leading member of the Forces for Freedom and Change, condemned the assassination of Nouri at a press conference on Thursday.<\/p>\n

He called on the government to seriously address the widespread violent incidents in the country, and make security and justice top priorities during the coming period.<\/p>\n
