For two consecutive days, chaos has reigned and the protests have crippled trades and market movements in the town, witnesses reported. The youths threatened not to hand over their motorcycles, even if the government used violence. They see the motorcycles as their only means of transportation, as well as a source of livelihood for the majority of the youths. The commissioner of El Meram locality, Abul Gasim El Hiraika, downplayed the protests.
