Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Sheik Mahjoub Adam Tabaldiya reported from El Salam camp that a bus with 14 displaced en route from Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, to the camp, broke down in the area of Beroma on Monday morning. \u201cWhen the driver was repairing the bus, suddenly three Janjaweed, wearing military uniforms, on camels appeared. They robbed Mohamed Adam Ibrahim of SDG200 ($35), and the bus driver of SDG60 ($10). They also took their mobile telephones. They then took three women, two of them married, to a place not far from the bus, and raped them.\u201d The camp sheikh not only strongly condemned the rape, but added that he was shocked about the occurrence of rape in broad daylight during the fasting month of Ramadan. He demanded from the South Darfur authorities and Unamid to intensify patrolling for the protection of the \u201cfasting displaced, inside and outside the camp\u201d.
