Speaking to Radio Dabanga, one of the Kereinik teachers appealed to the Sudanese President as well as the federal and state Ministries of Education to intervene to resolve the problem by releasing the amount, which has been suspended in the salaries record of Kereinik locality. The teacher complained: “Since the decision was made, a two-month allowance has been paid in all other localities in West Darfur, but not in Kereinik. This in spite of efforts on the part of the locality’s Union.” He said that he feared that this could cause an exodus of teachers from the locality.
