The SCP insists that the operation will be conducted by a well-known medical team. Mastour Adam, SCP\u2019s political secretary, told Radio Dabanga that security officers notified El Sheikh\u2019s relatives that the operation would be conducted in the Police Hospital in Khartoum, and that his family is not allowed to accompany him. \u201cBoth the Party and El Sheikh rejected the Police Hospital. We want the operation to be done by doctors we trust. The security service, however, refused, and insisted on conducting the operation on Monday in the Police Hospital.\u201d Mastour added that the SCP holds the government responsible for the deteriorating condition of its leader.\u00a0 Ibrahim El Sheikh\u00a0was detained on 8 June by security forces in his hometown En Nahud, West Kordofan, on charges of\u00a0undermining the Sudanese Constitution, after he had publicly denounced the widespread attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces on civilians in Darfur and Kordofan.
