As previously reported by Radio Dabanga, security authorities arrested more than 15 displaced people in Kass, South Darfur, between Sunday and Tuesday, and took them to an unknown destination. Speaking to Radio Dabanga on Wednesday, the coordinator of the Kass camps said that a campaign of raids and random arrests is still ongoing: “The number of detainees and missing persons increases by the day. Arrests have now been made in Earlie, Hajal al Medlis, Al Wifaat, Abdul-Jabbar, Shamun Nazeem, and the greater Kass neighbourhood,” the coordinator said. “Dozens have been arrested in the latest blitz that began on Sunday. They are detained on the pretext of affiliation with the armed movements.” The Coordinator appealed to humanitarian organisations to intervene to stop the raids and random arrests.
