One of the victims reported to Radio Dabanga that on Wednesday morning a number of paramilitaries in three Land Cruisers mounted with Dushka machineguns attacked the about 50 farmers tending their land in Gallab. \u201cThey shouted that the \u2018liberated\u2019 farmland has become a pasture for camels and cattle,\u201d he said. \u201cThey severely beat and whipped us, and robbed us of our money and belongings.\u201d The farmer demanded the local and North Darfur state authorities intervene to protect the farmers and expel the paramilitaries from their lands so that they can safely cultivate their crops.
