Speaking to Radio Dabanga, witnesses said that the fighting at Amoud El Aradeb area, located 90km from the state capital Nyala, was fierce. They could not yet ascertain the reason of the clash. The deputy leader of Salamat Shura (consultation) Council, Musa Bashir Musa, reported to Sudan Tribune that seven people were killed. Gunmen belonging to the Fellata tribe carried out the attack on Amoud El Aradeb area, home to the Salamat, he claimed. He expected more victims as the fighting continued late on Thursday evening. \u201cThese fresh clashes are the result of previous bitterness,\u201d the leader of the Fellata Shura Council, Abdallah Mohamed Arshu, told Sudan Tribune on Thursday. In March this year, fighting between militant tribesmen broke out after some Salamat stole a number of cows from Fellata herders. The clashes spread to Dimsu and El Ferdous localities in the next days, reportedly leaving 101 dead and wounded. The clashes stopped after the South Darfur authorities sent troops to separate the warring parties.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/cropped-dabanga-logo-zondernaam-512x512-1.png","thumbnail_width":512,"thumbnail_height":512}
