Speaking to Radio Dabanga, sources said that at noon prayers, at about 1.10pm, gunmen wearing police uniforms threatened the guard of the bank, located in the industrial area of Nyala. He resisted at first but later surrendered. There were no casualties. The local authorities immediately closed all entrances to the city. The commissioner of Nyala locality, Abdelrahman Hussein Gardoud, said that the security forces managed to follow a trail which may soon lead them to the perpetrators. He added that this incident reveals a lot of \u201cweak points\u201d of the security services. Gardoud explained that the perpetrators carried out the attack using a Honda Accent car with darkened windows. The commissioner stressed that police and security troops are on high alert, pursuing the robbers from all directions.
