Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Orta said that there are around 60,000 internally displaced people (IDP) in critical conditions, camped in Bao, Kurmuk, Al Tadamon and Gizan localities. A further 25,000 from Blue Nile are reported as registered in Doro camp, Upper Nile State, South Sudan. Orta said an estimate of 50,000 unregistered people were found in various localities along the border of Sudan and South Sudan. The secretary said that after capturing Kurmuk, the Sudanese government blocked the border with Ethiopia. He said 40,000 people had already fled there but the high number of unregistered camps was indicative of how many people were stuck in the area. Hashim Orta appealed for the international community, NGOs and UNHCR to open humanitarian corridors and provide food and assistance those trapped in Blue Nile state, as well as outside the state.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/cropped-dabanga-logo-zondernaam-512x512-1.png","thumbnail_width":512,"thumbnail_height":512}
