The UN Country Team (UNCT) and UNAMID attended the session. The meeting was co-chaired by UNAMID Acting Joint Special Representative Aichatou Mindaoudou and UN Resident Coordinator/Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Sudan Ali Al-Za’tari. It was stated on the press release that the focus of the meeting was “strengthening partnerships to better protect civilians”. In addition, it was “agreed that a joint committee would incorporate inputs proposed by the humanitarian community.” Both parties also agreed to continue supporting the Doha Document, the Darfur Regional Authority and the Darfur Joint Assessment Mission.
