The mother of the child accidentally shot her son and her uncle when she tried to express her joy by firing the rifle. An eye witness confirmed that 3 shots were fired, killing the 8 year old child Elhaj Hussein and his 52 year old uncle Abdullah Ahmady Gomaa, the principal of Elfeki Hussein School.
