Sudan OCHA bulletin 18: Humanitarian aid to Mellit, North Darfur
In this week’s humanitarian bulletin of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), relief organisations report that the humanitarian assistance begins for displaced population in Mellit, North Darfur.
NGOs resumed activities in South Darfur, following the lifting of government access restrictions to camps for displaced people.
Registration of South Sudanese refugees has continued in White Nile state: the total number of arrivals since December 2013 reached 134,244 people.
The World Food Programme plans a school feeding programme in South Kordofan.
And improved food security conditions are expected in relatively secure areas of Sudan, but acute food insecurity will persist in conflict-affected areas, according to the Famine Early Warning System Network (FEWS.net).
