South Darfur woman killed, more wounded, kidnapped and missing after militia attack

One woman died, three others were wounded, three were kidnapped and seven others are still ‘missing’ after a militia attack on a group of South Darfur women on Wednesday.

One woman died, three others were wounded, three were kidnapped and seven others are still ‘missing’ after a militia attack on a group of South Darfur women on Wednesday.

Hawa Suleiman Mariam Hamed died when a band of horseback militiamen opened fire on the group of women at Wadi Kella. They were on their way from Al Malam to the village of Rubicona after shopping.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that Kitomh Ahmed, Shadia Ibrahim, and a third unnamed woman were seriously injured by gunshot wounds.

Three of the women were kidnapped by the men, while seven others have been missing since the attack.
